Michael Haupt Offers No Disclaimer
On most websites you’ll see a disclaimer to the effect of: “This site is for entertainment purposes only… Thinking for yourself is bad… Do not try this at home…” It’s tempting for me to throw one of those disclaimers on this site too, just to be on the safe side, but I can’t quite bring myself to do it.
So instead, there is no disclaimer for this website, because you, dear reader, will learn (or have learned) that we are all responsible for our own interpretation of anything and everything we stumble upon or experience.
In law, a disclaimer means a denial of any connection with or knowledge of the subject being discussed. I have no intention of disclaiming anything I write, as this seems to me to be somewhat daft. Why would I write it if I’m simultaneously going to deny any knowledge of the topic?
Maybe some of the things I write will allow you to look at life a little differently, and possibly change your mind about how you want to conduct your affairs. But anyone who reads and understands my work is wise enough to follow their own intuitions and therefore acknowledges that I cannot, do not and will not tell anyone what to do. Your decisions are entirely your own affair.
So, head on back to where you came from…

A disclaimer in this context would simply mean a denial of a right of another e.g., where an insurer disclaims an allegation of liability against its insured and therefore refuses to indemnify or defend the insured in a lawsuit (disclaimer of liability). A disclaimer is not a denial of knowledge.
